The cabanon and the surrounding plot are private property. No trespassing !
You are now on the Plateau de La Tour, in font of a small cabanon (approx. 11 m2).
As often, it stands on the edge of the plot, along the chemin de La Tour, with direct access form the village.
Door and window are facing south, providing light. The roof (20% slope) is covered with canal-tiles. The ridge is east-west, heading towards the morning wind (locally known as le Solaure). The masonry is of limestone with lime joints. Woodwork is of fir.
The upper part (holding the framework of the roof) was recently renewed with concrete.
On the north side, rainwater was channelled to a cistern which is now overgrown by bushes.
About ten cabanons a re spread on the vineyards of the Plateau de La Tour. On the other side of the river Drôme, lower down, lies the plateau de La Mure.
